what fandom thinks the leaks will lead to: Marinette lying to Chat Noir with a love confession is going to hurt him when he finds out it’s a lie!! He’s not gonna trust Marinette and might get akumatized!! And when Marinette confesses truthfully to Adrien, he’s gonna reject her, and she might get akumatized!!
what’s probably going to happen: Chat probably rejects her like a gentleman, saying he still has feelings for Ladybug. Marinette plays along as a way to get out of the misunderstanding. Chat/Adrien may begin feeling closer to Marinette because of the fact she supposedly likes this side of him, and Ladybug/Marinette might have an even higher sense of respect for how Chat handled the situation. In the next episode no progression is made in the love square because this show barely has continuity and they need this Will They, Won’t They cliché to get milked for the views.
